According to the form of the heat exchanger, sufficient space should be left at both ends of the heat exchanger to meet the needs of conditional (operational) cleaning and maintenance. When installing a fixed tube plate heat exchanger, sufficient space should be left at both ends to allow the tubes to be pulled out and replaced. In addition, when cleaning the tubes mechanically, the tubes can be brushed at both ends. The fixed head cover end of the floating head heat exchanger should leave enough space to allow the tube bundle to be pulled out from the shell, and the outer head cover end must also leave more than one meter of space to facilitate the installation and removal of the outer head cover and the floating head cover. The fixed head cover of the U-tube heat exchanger should leave enough space to allow the tube bundle to be pulled out, and sufficient space can also be left at the opposite end to allow the shell to be disassembled.
When using chemical cleaning, the scale formed should be analyzed and tested according to the actual situation and water quality, and the cleaning agent should be prepared separately.
Since the difficulty of cleaning increases rapidly with the increase of scale thickness or deposition, the cleaning interval should not be too long. Inspection, repair and cleaning should be carried out regularly according to the characteristics of the production equipment, the nature of the heat exchange medium, the corrosion rate and the operating cycle.
