Coolers are a type of heat exchange equipment used to cool fluids. Water or air is usually used as a coolant to remove heat. There are wall coolers, spray coolers, jacket coolers, and coil coolers. They are widely used in pure water, water-air, oil-water, and oil-air cooling devices for cooling and protecting large electrical equipment such as high-power silicon rectifiers, induction furnaces, and medium-frequency furnaces.
Coolers are mainly wall-type, hybrid, and heat storage exchangers. The working principle, heat transfer calculation, structural calculation, flow resistance calculation, and design procedures of coolers are all illustrated with many detailed examples in the book Heat Exchangers.
