Common types of industrial heat exchangers are as follows:
1. Tube heat exchanger: This is one of the common types, including fixed tube sheet type, floating head type, U-tube type, etc. The fixed tube sheet heat exchanger has a simple structure and low cost, but there is temperature difference stress between the tube side and the shell side; the floating head of the floating head heat exchanger can be freely extended and retracted, avoiding temperature difference stress, easy maintenance, but complex structure and high cost; U-tube heat exchanger has only one end fixed and the other end freely extended and retracted, compact structure, easy cleaning of the tube side, but difficult cleaning inside the tube.
2. Plate heat exchanger: It is composed of a series of metal sheets with a certain corrugated shape. The plate heat exchanger has high heat transfer efficiency, compact structure, small footprint, and easy cleaning, but the pressure loss is large, it is not resistant to high temperature and high pressure, and it is easy to clog.
3. Spiral plate heat exchanger: It is a spiral channel formed by rolling two parallel metal plates. Two fluids flow in the spiral channel respectively. The spiral channel increases the heat transfer area and the turbulence of the fluid. The heat transfer efficiency is high, but the manufacturing difficulty is high and the pressure loss is also large.
4. Fin heat exchanger: On the basis of the shell and tube heat exchanger, fins are added to the outside of the tube to increase the heat transfer area. The fin heat exchanger is suitable for situations where the heat transfer coefficient on the air side is small, such as air coolers.
5. Plate-fin heat exchanger: It consists of baffles, fins, seals and guide vanes. The plate-fin heat exchanger has the advantages of high heat transfer efficiency, compact structure and light weight. It is widely used in aviation, aerospace, chemical industry and other fields.
6. Heat pipe heat exchanger: Heat exchange is carried out by using the efficient heat transfer characteristics of heat pipes. Heat pipe heat exchangers have the advantages of high heat transfer efficiency, good isothermal properties, and adjustable heat flux density. They are suitable for various special working conditions such as high temperature, low temperature, and corrosive conditions.
7. Rotary heat exchanger: The heat exchange between cold and hot fluids is achieved through the rotation of the rotor. The rotary heat exchanger has a compact structure and high heat transfer efficiency, but it has high sealing performance requirements and high maintenance costs.
