Working Principle Of Shell And Tube Heat Exchanger

May 15, 2025 Leave a message

The shell and tube heat exchanger is mainly composed of shell, tube bundle, tube sheet and head. Among them, one fluid (usually a colder fluid) flows in the tube side, and the other fluid (usually a hotter fluid) flows in the shell side. Due to the temperature difference between the two, heat is transferred from the high-temperature fluid to the low-temperature fluid, thereby realizing heat exchange.

Specifically, when the hot fluid enters the shell side, its heat is transferred to the cold fluid in the tube side through the tube wall. This heat transfer method is not only efficient, but also can effectively control the temperature of the fluid. In addition, the shell and tube heat exchanger can also be designed as a single-pass or multi-pass structure according to actual needs to meet different heat exchange requirements.
